Hi,

I’m installing an Autocom system under the seat on my 1200GSA. I want to connect power through one of the Aux Canbus connectors.

I think I’ve located the one by the headstock but I am under the impression that there is one under the seat – this I can’t seem to locate – just the Auxiliary DIN skt.

Can anyone point a finger to where I might find it (if at all)?

I’ve searched the forum but I can’t seem to find a link to the under-seat location.

there isnt 1 similar to the socket by the head stock, most people just tap into the back of the normal aux socket that is on the LH side and that is sort of under the seat

You have already found it by the sounds of it! The socket is always on the left of the bike underneath the riders seat.

Autocom location issues

Hi,

Have now supplied power from Headstock Canbus to TomTom and fed wire thru to underseat location (Thanx for the feedabck :beerjug: ) - I am now having difficulty finding a neat location for the Autocom unit in/on the tool-roll tray.............

The tray, which lays on top, is moulded to fit a relay and connector mounted underneath the tray which, as far as I can tell, is associated with the rear ABS sensor ?????

This does not allow room to seat the Autocom unit snug and securely.

I have looked for other sugestions and piccies to show pointers to a neat installation for my bike - but all of the ones I have seen do not have this relay and have a flat tray which makes fitting the Autocom unit to these tool trays a cinch.

Any ideas out there :nenau ??

PS - if I make a plate to fit the Autocom unit, I can't cary the tool-roll in that location as-well - is there anywhere to re-locate this in priority of the Autocom unit

The tool roll is actually taken off the bike for our comms to be fitted where they normally sit on the bike in the plastic tray. There is no room underneath the tray for the comms to be fitted so you can still keep the tool roll under the riders seat.

In relation to leaving the TK3201 on the bike I have mine and the Autocom permantely under the seta in the tool tray. How I achieved this was to remove the top section of the tool tray and cut off the bottom half so I am just left with the top rim if you like. This allows my Autocom Pro-sport and Kenwood, and 2 interface boxes and a BT dongle to sit in nicely. By leaving the top section with a rim it allows the small rubber to stilll be in place for the seat to push against. There is a small relay under the tray but the autocom or radio no not affect this when they're in place. I also just used the Aux Socket to power mine Autocom and bought a din plug for it. I also have a Zumo 550 so all my music I need is on there so no need for my Ipod.
I also had the problem with people not being able to hear me when going through the Zumo so just ended up going straight to dongle and Autocom. For all the calls I recieve it was hardly worth the effort to persue it any further for me.
