Evening all, recently purchased a LCD 1200 and would like to fit aux lights, BMW quoted £400-£500👀 What are your suggestions please, that seems a lot to me😐

If, it is to install everything from scratch, that price'd be about right.

You can go aftermarket for around half the price, and probably better quality.

I think the list price is 488 plus fitting (which is usually lumped in anyway). My dealer charged me 414 (accessories 15% off as part of the deal for the bike).

I went down that route because I didn't want the hassle at the time. Asides getting better quality for the price, there are some cool setups using HEX ezCAN (plenty of info out there) that you might want to look into?

yep its a fair price if you are using the Bmw ones with all the switch gear etc ..just beware though these are NOT waterproof ..I kid you not ....had four replace under warranty for water ingress and blown sealed units

I've gone down the ezcan and aftermarket led route.

I did buy a genuine front mount off eBay for £25.

Thanks for your replies, can't believe for BMW price, they are not waterproof! (My bike is a 2014 lc, te, not sure lcd, typo😄)

Will be contacting my local dealer tomorrow, also hope they will do my forks at same time

If your planning aftermarket light , check out Denali from R&G Racing. I have fitted 3 sets. awesome lights ,easy fitting kit and custom brackets to suit your need .

Point to note - the £399 offer is for the’old’ lights.

There is a new option, which are bigger - also another £150 ish.

Both are waterproof.

What do you mean “old” lights?

There is a new spotlight launched, which I saw in the flesh today - bigger unit and bulb. A guy had bought t new set, but the dealer couldn’t wire them, as the loom is on backorder. I had the choice and stuck with the old (current) ones.

The new ones are a good looking thing - a little more ‘space age’.

My dealer said the led ones are the current ones, bulb ones are older models?

The ones linked to the Motorrad site in an earlier post are what I had fitted today for £399. They are LED, my apologies - I meant the lens is bigger on the new ones - well, the whole unit is bigger. The new ones are another £150, but they exist, I saw them today. Should have got a photo. Very similar, but I guess that’s why the lights are on offer...
