JVB added an LED. If the CANopener is used there isn't an on/off indicator. . .. Very slick install. . ..

I would like to say it was a breeze, but that would be lying! The concept and design was easy, applying it was not so much.
The light:

12 Volt LED with a threaded mount.

Mark the hole and centerpunch it. Make sure you have room on the back side.

Drill the hole, then debur it. I use a larger drill bit on the softer materials.

Test fit the light.

Install the light on the back, and snug down. This was the hard part. Pulling the headlight would have made it easy, but the LED need significant bodywork removed to do it, so we worked around it. We did pull the instruments to make it easier.

Seal the light, and lock the nut on, with shrink tubing. Be careful heating it not to damage the surrounding plastics.

I covered the whole run with wire sheathing to protect it and hide it from view. I tapped the Erica lamp on the left side because it was accessible. You could tap the right if you wanted. I used Positaps because they are the least intrusive. I sealed both ends of the sheathing and sealed them to the Positaps and light as well with shrink tubing.

Night visibility is good from reflection. In daylight you tilt your head a bit and see it fully.

All in all a clean install!

JVB,:thumb2 your installs are so neat and clean! That indicator looks real cool and well placed. :thumb2

Good work, Jim.:thumb

Isn't there an aux light indicator on the dash from the factory though?:augie:D

Probably a lot easier to install this than try to persuade the dash light to work with 3rd party aux lamps installed.

There's the added bonus that Jim'll still know if his aux lamps are on if he ever brings his bike to the UK and someone nicks his clocks :hide

Right, the factory Aux light is directly across the instruments from the aftermarket Aux light I installed. Mine is for the Ericas, not the factory aux light.

I wondered too but realised from the title f the thread: let's you know if your aux lights are on?

Oh dear.

You can just stand up and have a peak. Or at night, if you can't tell the difference between aux lights on / off maybe you shouldn't be riding?

FFS stop swinging your handbags at each-other and just point out that Jim's bike comes with in-built spelling errors :green gri

During the day, if you do not have a car close in front of you, you have no indication if the Clearwater lights are on. I know, tough concept to grasp!

:D Damn colonial spelling!

PS Not my bike, it is a friend's bike. Mine does, however, have the "improper" spelling as well.
