yes hello, I know this is most prob a very bone question however, I am in the throws of fitting some ff50's and some Micro DE's to my 1150GS.
My question is, having done all the lamp fitting and wiring but no real connecting am I holding off hacking into the lighting harness/wiring near the Headlight itself to energise the relay for either pair of lights. For christ sake there must be a better way of getting those relays energised.
The two relays I am going to use are the standard Hella supplied items, one for dipped and high beam respectively. I will be using an Auto switch that will pick up the pulse from the Indicator cancel button (0.8) yes I can read!!!! These lamps still need a feed to energise the relays and I want to use something in the fuse box or close by and not run a line to the headlights again. I have studied the manual and its wiring diagram with these findings
There is no light relay in the fuse box!!!!! This is unusual to say the least! The wiring changes colours more times than a Ho's knickers, and when you look for a cable (Lighting) in the fuze box without 12v they're all live with 'ignition off'.
So if BTBR and the rest of the wise ones can advise.......... including anybody else in the same boat (you will not be forgotten) I would love to come back in a few days time with a result!
Ok anuvver bone quezzy, In the dear old Fuse box again. I have a missing relay, its the Motronic Converter Relay and you (Im guessing again) will all be minus one of these. This is also a bit of a guess ( probably not a lot as most were fitted to further defeat emmission regs on the 1100 GS). Can I plug summat in there curing my slightly crappy slow speed throttle action ('Y'piece and pipe don'tcha know!)
Many thanks !!!!
