Finally after a LOT of help from Yoda (his site contains superb instructions for fitting Hellas www.bmwman.biz) I got these bad boys fitted last night. Awesome. Time consuming job but worth it. After looking at PIAA setups I opted for Migsel lightbar and Hella Micro DE and FF50s (dip and main beam respectively). Haven't put a switch into the system yet - might do at a later date although the only time I think I'd want a switch is for MOT but that's not for another two years and I might just remove the fuse to get round this one...

MOT point.

If it's fitted it has to work. Removing the fuse will not help. I had to remove indicator switches from my DRZ400 when I mot'd it even though it had never had indicators!

Listen David, even if you put all those bright lights on we can still se that your garage needs a good tidy  :D

Thanks for the tip Tuned - have to catch up with you sometime and get out for a spin.

Dahoum - I'm well aware that my garage is filthy - I'll just say it's the packaging from the lights and engine bars ;)

Can you post a pic with just dip and with no lights so I can see what it looks like?

Have you ridden it in the dark yet? What are your impressions?

Thanks,

Robin.

Both are excellent combinations :thumb

These are some light patterns of my Hella lights in my garden.
And yes, you are allowed to come pick up the leaves if they bother you :)

Hi Robin - had my first night time run this evening and the lights were awesome - I reckon that on dip with the micro des they're better than full beam on standard bike. With the full beam and the FF50s coming into play the firepower was awesome! I'm a happy bunny :D I toyed with the idea of adding lights for ages and researched the PIAA and Hella setups and finally took the plunge with Hella and I'm well pleased.
