For anyone interested :)

I had a PDM 60 on my SA and removed it prior to sale, and last weekend finally got round to fitting it to to the WC, along with an LED Auxiliary light kit that I got from Michel aka MigSel of this parish (www.migsel.com).

The kit comes with 700 Lumens lights, Alloy body and seem very well constructed, a beautifully made light bar and a wiring loom, with bar switch and relay along with fitting instructions. As I was using my PDM 60 to supply power to the switch, I made my own wiring look up for the job.

First off, stripped the beastie down and also removed the rear load deck. The PDM 60 got mounted at the rear, using Velcro to make it easy to remove to reprogram if needed and I took the trigger from the tail light using a Posi tap. I had a look around what some of the guys had been doin on Adv Rider and went for a ground bus / bar.

Rear deck removed, ground bus fitted and PDM 60 dropped in. I split the PDM 60 running higher load wires down one side in their own loom, and lower amp down the other side. I used some Nylon cable braid to keep it tidy (It get's tidier) :D

The ground bus was a tenner from a marine supplier and comes with a clip on cover, wirs just tucked out of the way for now so I could test everything, you can see my braided / extended power cable, ground cables and my high / low load looms

The nylon strap was to support the pannier frames as I could not be arsed fully removing them when removin the deck.

Deck refitted, loom's tested ready for lights (PDM 60 is also supplyin my heated gear and a USB charge socket for now.

Ran my lighting loom up along the tank to the bar switch

Once I decided on the routing, it got cable tied out of the way and I then got on with the lights.

Lightbar fitted, the lightbar has an integral light guard and uses the OEM mount points, making it very very neat, I love the way Migsel cut some small slots in strategic places to allow you to cable tie the wiring up.

Lights all wired in, wiring tied and tucked away, time to sort the final bit's in a minute at the switch end

Put my loom going to the switch into the existing clips with the BMW loom, keeping it nice and tidy (I hate loose dangling wires)

Wiring coming back from the lights inside the beak / tank panel. It's all shrink wrapped, the insultation tape was just to bind a few of the hidden bits of my hom made look together

Switch wired up and bodywork refitted

You can see my braided wiring cabl tied into the existin BMW cables heading to the left switch gear

Finished, looks neat enough to me :thumby:

And the finished product

All in all, this is a great product, the light bar is discreet, very easy to fit and position and looks great. wiring is a doddle, I just chose to go from my PDM 60 rather than use the supplied loom and relay. I love the fact that Migsel have engineered the lightbar itself to have the side protection for the spots, and the ease in which you can zip / cable tie the wiring out of the way. It runs in a LOT cheaper than the official BMW kit, and save for a single positap, I've not had to break into th bikes wiring.

If you are looking for Aux lights, give Michel aka Migsel a shout, you won't be disappointed.

Night shots of the lights will be up later this week, as I'm about to hop onto my "Mighty Steed" (I miss Wapping) and head to Cardiff for work.

You've made a nice job of that fella! :thumb

That's like Yoda giving a padawan a pat on the back :) Thanks. I still need to get one of your paint jobs done on it, have to drop you a PM this week.

Thanks :)

I did make a monumental cock up after fitting the rear deck, ....I forgot to fit the "spare" grounding wires, so quickly whipped the deck off and fitted them :)

Credit where it's due mate, that install shows a great attention to detail. And we all know ..... the devil is in the detail!;)

I look forward to your PM!

Very nice fit mate .
I do like the look of the lights set further back than the bmw light bar set up
nice set up and tidy job :thumby:

You were not supposed to notice those :) if the thieving pikeys that stole my ladders are reading this, can you bring them back as I could do with sorting that out, and cleaning my gutters :)
