Hi

I have no clue about electronics, please bear with me :) just tried a few searches there but can't see anything. Many questions!

I bought these for my 2003 GS http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/391137957893?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

How do I install them?! There is the red and white wire connecting to each light, but where do i connect them to the bike, would they work with a switch/can i add a switch, and do I need anything additional as they are LED?
Looking at http://faq.f650.com/GSFAQs/AftermarketGSLightsFAQ.htm seems some lights connect straight to the battery; do I just wrap the wire from the spots around the terminals? will this not wear the battery down at startup over time?

Hoping someone can help, or advise where to find it!
Thanks

Somewhere I have a PDF showing a very basic wiring setup which will allow your lights to come on with main beam, or be independently switched; however given your self admitted lack of expertise I would suggest you consult an auto electrician.

If you want the PDF either subscribe and send me a PM, or publish an email address.

ps - It doesn't make any difference that you're using LEDs.

Don't 'wrap the wires around the battery terminals' or they'll be on all the time.

The simplest way to do it is to take the white wires to earth (either back to the battery terminal or onto a bolt on the frame of the bike) and join the red wires together, then put them to one side of a switch, then from the other terminal of the switch to the live feed of the main beam bulb.

You could take it to the battery positive, but if you forget to turn them off, they will flatten your battery overnight.

The PROPER way to do it would be to include a relay powered by the ignition circuit or the main beam circuit, and an illuminated switch so you can see when they are on.....but I suspect from your original post that you would be better off getting someone to do this for you.

Spend a couple of hours on You tube and you'll find dozens of videos on how to wire up lights and switches.....It's a lot simpler than you may imagine :thumb2

EDIT.......One thing you'll have to do is to work out how they've done the three different 'modes' that these lights come with........or when you connect them up, you'll find they're at half strength or flashing....not good :nono

I suspect the instructions will be in hard to understand Chinenglish, but it ought to be possible to work it out :)

How did you get on with fitment?

What bracket did you use or engine bars?

About to do the same but have purchased bracket for light mounting.

MAny thanks
