I want to charge up the bike's battery via the auxiliary socket on my 1999 1150 GS (too lazy to remove the tank). I have bought a plug to fit the auxiliary socket but unsure which way round to wire it up. Am I correct in assuming that the male part of the auxiliary plug should be connected to the +ve lead of the battery charger or is it t'other way round?

You're correct...the centre part of the socket/plug is +ve, the springs on the side that match with the outside of the barrel are to -ve

Open up a plug and you'll see the fuse is part of the assembly that makes up the centre and leads to the nipple on the end :thumb
