Hi Chaps,

I am hoping someone from the Parish could tell me where i could source the adapter for the F800GS Aux socket. I am hoping to charge my Blackberry while heading down to France in the tank bag, but the standard adapters are 12v of which my F800GS is not.

I did have a browse on Ebay but couldn't find anything that was from the UK.

Anyone help me?

Cheers

Ben

Not sure what you're asking here Ben. Do you mean you want a 12v plug that will fit your socket on the 800GS? Rainbow Motorcycles keep them in stock but they should be available from any good auto electrical store, Mapplins etc.

I can assure you they your 800GS is 12v, please trust me on that :thumb

Sorry Micky didn't want to make the post confusing. In summary i know the standard socket on the F800GS next to your key doesn't accommodate a 12v charger (i.e my blackberry) as i have tried it. I spoke to BMW and they said i need a specific BMW adapter which has a cable to convert into a 12v supply to charge my phone in the tank bag. :thumb

Edit * Oops i have just realized i have been saying its not a 12v outlet of which it is. Apologies i know nothing about electrics. Its just the matter of getting a BMW adapter which will fit in the small hole on the BMW with cable running to a standard size 12v cigarette lighter.

Your bike is 12v, your phone needs 5v.

Could try this from Powerlet but pricey.

I've run a twin cable to under the seat with a 12v cigarette lighter socket on it, and use a normal car micro* usb cable. Or use the 12v/usb plug shown above with usb to micro usb cable. Bits can be had from Maplins for c£20 I reckon.

It means I've also got a power point for compressor etc if needed.

I assume blueberries are micro usb :nenau

Perfect cheers Fordy. Just hoping that second link is long enough to go from the socket and into my tank bag. :thumb

Understood ... I was pulling your leg a bit ;)

The link by Snappo to Nippy Normans above is what you need if you can't source the plugs to make up your own :thumb
