I am finally about to fit some DRLs/fog lights. There is only one detail I wondered if the collective could help with (I've read countless posts about the lights themselves). My question is the switches.

I am looking for a neat solution. I found the outfit below selling some smart handlebar switches, but they're flippin expensive and wont quite fit the 1150 GS...

I was going to mount the switches into the cockpit trim I bought from Mike. But with more thought, I prefer the idea of them being on the bars.

Has anyone seen or using any neat and tidy solutions?

check with Les Wassel on hid50.com
he had switches available when he fitted my lights and fusebox

Autoswitch is probably the best, hold the indicator cancel for on/ off

Just needs a bit of soldering in the fuse box

Thanks for the replies and suggestion for the Autoswitch. I'm not so keen on the idea tho. I prefer the idea of a dedicated switch and with an indication light on the switch to boot...

But maybe I need to look into the Autoswitch more closely

Cheers

You could use this switch instead? If the spots are low wattage you might be adble to power them via this switch direct from the aux socket (or its feed) which would then switch off automatically when the canbus powers down.

On my 1150 I mounted a dedicated switch plate from an F650 single on to the handlebar clamp bolts. It came from Motorworks, and is still available in their new parts section; they also sell the required switch.
