Received this product today after a long wait due to being out of stock. Got it from Nippy Normans. I very rarely review anything but here goes. First I have to say to BMW what planet are you on. Do you only test bikes on clean dry roads ? The standard front fender offers no protection ! Fender extenders I have seen in the past look a little tacky and usually require sticking or drilling for self tapping screws. There must be a better solution and there is the Avant Extender. Cost from NN £44 OK not cheap but I think well worth it. First impressions when I took it out of the box was that this was a substantial piece of plastic. Somebody has given this a lot of thought. Its very well engineered and beautifully made. Fitting is simple took me less than 2 minutes and is very secure. There is no damage to the original mudguard so you can take it off. The product looks OEM and suits the bike. So Machineartmoto I give you 10/10 and thats from a perfectionist.

Yep fantastic bit of kit and works so well on the GS too.
If you think the RT front mudguard is shite take a look at the mudguard they have put on the new WC RS:barf.

I have one too. Very good.

However I find I need an extended rear mudguard too, the topbox lock is plastered with mud.

Yeah, I know, I shouldn't go out in the rain:blast

The rear mudguard on the watercooled RT is adjustable for length.. Well mine is anyway.

Fitted a Crud Catcher first, and the Extender when it arrived a week later. The latter finishes the front end off, both items keeping all the crap off the front. Great service from Nippys.

Well, inspired by this thread I got one from Nippys and fitted it tonight. Got to say I'm really impressed with the quality, fit and look.

Here are some pictures showing before and after;

The last image shows the precision of fit between the existing mudguard and the new one.

The Test

My mate Andy and myself did a 210 mile trip out to the Horseshoe Pass in Wales and back today.
I have the fender extender fitted and Andy does not so it was the perfect time to compare fender protection.

Is that the crudcatcher from Mark at Cymark?
I didn't think there was clearance for both the crud catcher and the fender extender.
Do you have a photo please, I might get the CC as well
Thanks
Dave

Can we have a photo please, I didn't think there was clearance for both? Thanks Dave

Yonkyo beat me to it, but yes there is plenty room between the CC and mudguard. I would've measured the gap for more accurate proof, but the bike is in Clarks for an ongoing gearbox/clutch problem
