Hey gyys,

A while back I got rid of Norton on the advice from this site.:thumb I have since installed AVG free version.(8):thumb2

Okay, so far so good.,, However I have noticed the search field space retains the items I searched for. :nenau I am running XP and I can "drop down" the list of search Items there and delete what I don't want.,, (Wrong spellings usually):mmmm
I don't actually remember using the search field in AVG before so it may be an odd one here.

On the drop down in AVG)I have about 5 listed items. I have tried the same tekneek (spelling!!) of highlighting the word and pressing delete but I can't delete the thing.

Does any of this make sense to anyone or am I :monkeypiz in the wind??

Thanks in advance.

Pat

Think I know what you mean, the search bar at the top right of the IE page.

On the tool bar, click tools (also top right), internet options, middle of the box - browsing history - delete. You then get another box asking what you wish to delete, you can remove all the crap or just form history which should clear the search box.:thumb

you can now get rid of those embarrasing searches for: famyard frolicks.........and such like:D

Edit: Second thought, did you install the AVG tool bar?, I never bother with junk like that it just gets in the way. Go to control panel to remove it or download "crap cleaner" and use it to clean or uninstall.

Many thanks for your reply.:thumb

Yes, I did load up the AVG toolbar. :o,That is the search Field I am referring to.

I have looked in Control Panel,,, Remove programmes,,, but all I see there is AVG programme. I do have Crap cleaner (very good prog.) but will try using that.

Thanks again.
