Had Trailriders fitted today. On the ride home I could feel a buzzing/vibration particularly over 40 mph. It feels a bit like nobbly tyres but nowhere near as pronounced. Could this be caused by the tyre tread pattern or possibly a wheel balancing issue?? Has anyone else noticed this with Trailriders? I've read lots of reviews but don't recollect anyone mentioning this. I had Annakees before which didn't buzz (but were noisy!)

Had mine on for a couple of thousand miles now and none of the symptoms you describe, are they possibly rubbing if the noise or vibration is coming from the rear .

When I got mine first, I remember a bit of a vibe at the front at certain speeds, but with use this has gone away. I seem to recall a few comments saying the same at the time.

Thanks for the replies. No rubbing that I can see and no mudsling fitted. Checked tyre pressure whilst riding and it was 39.5psi according to the NAV5. Tyres fitted with a service at a main dealer and it did surprise me the pressure reading was a bit low. I will check with my gauge tomorrow but it usually corresponds with the tyre sensors. Do you think 2.5 psi could cause that effect? (Obviously, I will find out!)

Interesting, thanks. I'd say mine is buzzing all over - quite noticeable through the seat.

Got a thousand miles on mine , no vibes , also changed from pr4.
Very happy with them.

I have the Avons and just changed my rear after 5k which is normal for me, but the front looks to have another 5k in it , I have noticed my front being a little noisier. Great tyre. I have run Tourance and Anakees 3 and Anakee wild . It Maybe due to a little more heat over the past few weeks.

Check no-one has attached a bit of fag packet to your fork leg so it buzzes against the spokes when the wheel goes round- used to be done a lot when I were a lad! :D

Can't fault my Avons. Loads better than Anakees. Nowhere near the mudsling or fender extenda.

Checked cold pressures this morning - added 4psi to the rear and 3 to the front (and removed the fag packet :)) but the vibration has not gone away. I think it may be reduced or I'm getting used to it. Dealer has very kindly offered to send a van out to collect it and check the wheel balancing. Hopefully that will be it.

Mechanic at local BMW dealer said don't go by nav5 tyre pressure numbers as not too accurate!! Can't beat a good quality tpg.

I got my trailriders fitted at the weekend,

Compared to the Karoo's there a revelation ... these is noise, but not until about 70ish --

Noticed they were fraction noisier this morning, but that may be due to the road i used etc.

No vibration i can see whatsoever ...

Daft question i know... (i got shot down in another thread ;) ) Is the front tyre the right way round? the tread pattern runs the opposite way to the rear

Fronts with an arrow'y kind of tread often look to be fitted incorrectly as it is being pushed whereas the rear is pushing (for want of a better term)
As mentioned, there will be a direction indicator on the sidewall.

Did you manage to find out what it was? How are they now?

The dealership kindly rebalanced both wheels but by that time I had got used to it and it made no difference. The dealer is pretty sure the tyre tread pattern will be noisier/buzz more than a pure road tyre and looking at them it's hard to disagree. I definitely felt a vibration/buzz throughout the whole bike when I first got on it with the new tyres but after a couple of hundred miles, I can no longer say whether they buzz or not - it feels normal.
