I’ve tried and failed miserably to configure flash on braking then show steady ( California settings) together with flash on emergency braking etc.

Bike is a 2010 GS 1200 with no abs but obviously the rear sensor is there for speedo etc.

Any ideas?

It’s in there Dick, in the settings. I think you have to uncheck one of the boxes. I managed it without a faff.

Good luck

Jim

Here you go Rich. Settings I’ve used to get what you’re after.

Hope this helps

I had mine setup for that, but changed it back to normal. It is extremely annoying for people behind especially in queuing traffic and is illegal in the UK, a kind police officer advised me!

It is ok to have flash on emergency braking or deceleration, but not flash every time.

I didn't research this point, just decided he was probably right and took the advice

I think that why you can set a speed cut off limit so it doesn’t flash under a certain speed.

California style just flashes on initial braking too, not constantly.

Well, I’ve got it working but no idea what I did!

I set the speed cut-off to zero and tested at a standstill and I get 3 flashes then solid on (California legal setting)

I’ve put the speed cut off at 15mph so it shouldn’t annoy folks in slow moving traffic.

I just need to check is till forks at speeds over that.

Thanks for your input lads.

Well done Rich

Hope you never have to rely on it.

I noticed the settings wording you have is different to what I have.

Keep safe

Jim

Cheers Jim

Me too 🤞🤞

I must say that folks do tend to keep a decent distance behind me as it’s bloody bright, even running 10% in daytime.

Keep safe yourself.
Cheers

Just had mine in for MOT. I have a soundbomb set to 2sec delay, and my B6 set to no flashing, 10% running light, 100% braking. The kind tester obviously got surprised by the soundbomb, and came up with these advisories on the B6:
“Rear Lower (additional position lamp is so bright that it may be mistaken for a brake lamp in operation) *DANGEROUS*”
“Rear Lower (additional position lamp operating as brake lamp is extremely bright when operating brakes. This is dazzling/blinding to driver behind) *DANGEROUS*”
It was a pass.

Do you reconfigure your setup for MOT purposes, or was my tester just having a bad Friday afternoon?

P.S. just checked last year’s certificate, which was a clean pass, from the same guy!!

My B6 and Lonerider spots + led replacement headlight went through the MOT in May with a pass and no advisory's

I think he was either being a bit of a *$¥*!!, or maybe had a supervisor watching. The same guy passed the exact same setup last year with no advisories.

Lesson learned - I’ll speak to the tester next year to save the grief.

I have my B6 set at 10% for the back light and it’s still rather bright. Even without a BMW rear light. (R1300 GS adv)
The B6 stop light is very bright at 100%.
Think 50% would be ok.

Indeed, my B6 is blinding, anything over 10% whites out the number plate lol
