Back in Joe Duff's again today. Looks like someone tried for my bike last night.

Well lads,

Yesterday I posted up about my day with the bad fuel and the Disk lock thing but here I am again.

I woke up this morning and dropped the misses and my son off to her mothers place and as I had time before I had to be in work I headed back to my place to pick the bike up and ride it into work.

I arrived at the bike and took the cover off. Nothing unusual there. As I leaned in to remove the main lock I notice that two clips on the lock carrying bag had been unclipped from under the rear rack. I clipped them back in and packed the lock away into the bag. I then removed the second lock and put that away also but when I went to put the key in to remove the steering lock I saw that the ignition was hanging down. The two screws that once held it in place had been removed somehow and there was no sign of them. I scratched my head and made my way to work on the bike.

When I got home I check the back senor light and it wasn't working. It had blown. Nothing to do with anything but maybe someone had noticed and took a chance while it was out. The lads in Joe duff's where saying that maybe the cover was left on as they might have hope that I wouldn't go near the bike today and that they could finish the Job then.

So just under €30 spent and the ignition is back in and locking the steering again, so fingers crossed that’s the end of that.

On another note the fuel pump started wining loudly today. The mechanic in Joe Duffy's said he has heard them like that before and that it's not really a problem but it wasn't like that until today so do any of you think it could be related to the bad fuel yesterday. Has this happened to anyone else and was it a sign of the pump been on its way out.

sounds like your going through a bad spell....in the case of bad fuel i'd blame that on the fuel pump noise, the fuel pumps on them are fairly bulletproof and dont fail that much, my next steps would be to fill the tank to the neck..run all that through and hope for the best

hope it all works out

I'd sit up for a couple of nights and wait for them with a baseball bat!!!

Seriously though, you should inform the police and maybe wait up with a video camera to catch them in the act, record any vehicle reg numbers etc. Then maybe turn a light on to disturb them before they have it away or do any serious damage.

(option 1 would be far more satisfying though :green gri )

Turns out that the fuel pump noise was caused by a clamp that was fitted to the fuel line. Maybe in Joe Duffy's. No to sure though. But could have been on to help drain the bad fuel from the tank some how. Anyway I removed it and it's back to normal now.
