After hurting my back at work i have spent five weeks off work in some pain going for physio and taking all sorts of tablets. Then back to work on light duties for a week then off on holiday for nearly three weeks. It seemed like ages (9 weeks) since i have been out on the bike. So the first weekend back from happy hols (refreshed) I was out and about on the bike, up to Rothbury where i saw an old man hanging about on the street corner (ALDY). So after chewing the fat for a while off i went up to the ranges for a skulk about. I was out for about four hours. this was on saturday the 4th, then on sunday the 5th off we went to penrith as my mate was meeting a bloke to buy a scooter
It was a suzuki burgman 650 executive which he bought. I was quite surprized how swiftly it went on the way home over 90mph. Monday the 6th off we went to the classic jap meet at the dyke knook pub at morpeth, me on a 1975 ts250 and my mate on a 1986 yam dt100 with 1800mls on the clock. What a laugh going down the a1 with our feet on the back pegs and lying over the tank to get up to 69mph. It was even funnier trying to get home in the dark with a 6volt system on the ts and the light lighting up the top of the hedges. Even Ann Summers toys have bigger batteries. It was like being a teenager all over again as the first new bike i bought was a 1979 ts 250. It felt great getting back in the saddle again. I was away upto Wooler with the caravan last weekend with her who likes to be obeyed or i would have been out playing. If the weather holds out i will be off up to the ranges again in the near future
