Hi Everyone.. not been on the forum for a while as sold my BMW r1250 GSA triple black last year as did not plan touring anymore and purchased a Triumph speed Twin 1200 for Local ride outs.. "OOP'S SORRY" IT'S NOT B.M.W.. but always loved the looks of the speed twin.. So sold my 2021 R nine t and jump ship to the Speed Twin.. but did miss the R1250 GSA.. but have had 2 GS'S and 2 GSA'S in the past and didn't fancy a 5th one.. So Recently purchased the new R1300 gs triple black "FULLY SPEC" as do plan on doing some touring next year.. As my better half prefers 4 wheels I decided not to purchase the Vario side cases but did purchase the Vario top box.. thankfully up to now the central locking as work fine with no issues.. So just wondering as anyone else had problems with their Vario top box.. I've done some research and it seems that only a few of the Vario top boxes have had the central lock faults.. Which seems unusual considering the cases and the top box is controlled with the same central locking system.

Anyway.. very Pleased up to now with the New r1300 gs.. understandable that current and previous owners of the r1250 GS/GSA have not took to the new r1300 gs to well.. but I've had 1 x r1200 GS/1 x 1200 GSA and 2 r1250 GSA's and toured many miles on them and are excellent machines.. but do find the new r1300 gs suits me better in everyway.. As I did consider buying the r1250 gs again but did not want to regret not buying the new r1300 gs so seem the logical choice.. Did think of waiting for the r1300 GSA Model As I don't mind the look of it.. I know that's controversial DOH! Also Can't see the point in 30ltr tank "unless your touring in the middle of know-where" As I'm ready for a break and a stretch every 2 hours so I find the standard tank size suits me fine.

Once again.. Sorry about not posting for a while.. but not owning a BMW any more.. thought talking about my Speed twin would not go down well. lol.. However now I'm back hopefully I can give and receive advice on the present r1300 gs and the previous r1250GS/GSA and maybe meet up on some local ride outs.. bye for now!

Welcome back. It's good to get real world views on a bike rather than me looking at it and thinking I like the headlight!

Enjoy the 1300.

I think the headlight is fine.. it's different.. nothing stays the same for ever.. Even My better half looks different from when we got married all them years ago.. lol.. the only thing I didn't like on the r1300 gs and I changed as soon as I got my R1300 GS was the multi function indicators/brake and tail light.. I had the 2021 R1250 GSA and that had the previous indicators and a separate brake and tail light..

So decided to installed the Weiser Technik "plug and play" brake light/tail delete modules "now only yellow indicator flashers either right or left when indicating now.. the way it should be! also installed the B6 brake/tail light.. as did not like the idea of not having a separate tail and brake light.

Its a great bike, i have the same model so am biased, i am not into the gsa been there done that twice, too heavy even though im a unit so can handle it :D Enjoy ! IMG_7348.jpegIMG_7349.jpeg

SiRich.. Same as you Happy with the new r1300 gs up to now.. Like I said it's slightly better at every thing.. which to be honest did not think BMW could improve on the r1250 gs, is it worth Swapping from a r1250 gs to take a big hit on trade in then I would say no! However I was not in that situation. I spec it with all the packages including the twin Arapovic/ enduro pack which includes the engine bars.. also spec the black spoke wheels/ bmw dark smoked screen/ bmw alarm./vario top box/bmw spot lights.. also fitted for protection.. Headlight guard/Rad guards/shaft drive protector/Wunderlich inner fender/side stand enlarger/WRS dark smoked wing deflectors and WRS dark smoked hand guard extenders/extension beak/SW-motech quick release tank bag/quadlock wireless charger/ Weiser Technik "plug and play" brake light/tail delete modules "now only indicator flashers when signaling" also fitted the b6 tail and brake light under the number plate.. got nothing else planned to add.. but you know what they say "never say never" lol...

Nice one kwackless - have been thinking about the bmw dark screen, but £240 hmm. Sounds like you've put your own stamp on the bike with those mods, good for you mate (y)

Know what you mean.. bmw accessories are to expensive and not always the best quality.. but with me ordering the r1300 gs I got a decent discount on all the bmw accessories.. but there are cheaper other dark smoked screens just as good as the bmw screens.. like Wunderlich/puig to name just a few.. or if you bought your r1300 from a bmw dealer ask for a discount.. I always do and get at least 15% off.. still expensive but at least you know the mounting holes will line up.. lol.. been there done that and sent accessories back due to not fitting correctly!

Only other accessory I'm thinking if fitting is the TFT brace.. had it on my previous r1250 gsa as did do a lot weekend aways and touring around Europe.. but not in a hurry to fit to the r1300 just yet as don't plan touring or any weekends away till next year.. as only doing day trips till next year so never leave the bike out of line of sight..
