Is it best to put the stock headers / silencer back on for a service? Its the first 6k one. Or does an aftermarket exhaust not matter warranty wise? I haven't had a tune done or anything.

I don't think it matters - but I wonder if it is noted in the service details that are stored by the dealer/BMW for future reference?????? If it is easy to swap, I'd swap it back to stock for the service.

It is noted. The stuff that matters anyway ie can and headers. And also BMW don't recommend rad guards apparently??? Maybe they prefer a big stone punctureing them ??

If they note on the vehicles service log that it is dirty when coming in for service (and point out it may invalidate any corrosion warranty claims) and note that a bike is fitted with an Optimate charge lead (which may effect the bikes electrical systems) I have no doubt that any tuning mods from exhausts to air filters to detected remaps will be noted against the vehicles history .................JUST IN CASE

Of course not. They couldn't care less.

Williams dont care less either....
me n a mate both have akra headers and race cans and no one blinks an eye at the dealers.
me pal has had warranty work done too and not a mention of any modications.
BM mechanic test rode my bike and commented on how sweet it runs.

Mine had full Remus System and a Hilltop remap. No problems at all when engine replaced due to corrosion with all that still fitted. Similar comments to above by Mechanic who said it was the best fuelled and quickest GS he had ridden.

Well that is good news, thanks chaps. Really couldn't be arsed to bugger about pulling off engine bars and exhausts :D

I'm glad I ride an old piece of shit, and don't have to trouble myself with this crap...
