Backfires and erratic tickover

the back fire on over-run is caused by a slug in the exhaust ( a section a slow moving air) it does not happen when you fit ANY remus can race or not, but will suffer extreme back fire with BM can & Y-Peice

Spot on - this is what happened with mine - i bought it with Remus Y-piece and OE can, and it used to backfire regularly.

Just swapped OE can for Remus Revolution and performance in the midrange has received a healthy boost. Backfiring seems to have been eliminated, though it burbles a bit on the overrun.

All fitted by a BMW dealer, and it runs very nicely. However, someone has now suggested it will be running lean and needs a Techlusion.

Comments ?

Sorted!!

Just picked my 1150 up this morning from Wollaston's Northampton after having a remus system fitted along with techlusion. What a transformation!!!!

Before I was running a Y piece and standard end can and the backfires were incredible!!! Not good when you're traveling along a sheep infested road!!

The bike is noticebly smoother, even at tickover, pulls like a train when you snap pen the throttle and on the 50 mile journey home I didn't hear a single backfire!!!!

Oh does it sound good............. titanium reveloution....and the weight difference is incredible. You would not believe how heavy the standard can is!!!!!

Having had both a Two Bros and now a Ztechnic, they do tend to have a small backfire on sudden deceleration. I did use RTV silicone sealant. With a bbp chip, the backfiring was eliminated, except when the bike was cold.
With the stock chip, the Ztechnic was just a pop, noticeable but not too bad.

Another factor could be the little rubber caps that fit underneath the injectors on the points where vacuum gauges are connected. These perish very quickly, and of course when they do, this will allow air to get into the system. I just replaced the caps on myGS and it made a significant difference to the backfiring ( as in much less).
