Backing up our front line.

Did a run today to Kerry from limerick and back
Got stopped at 7 checkpoints
Sticker on bike definitely helped
Did any of the lad's/lass's recognise the sticker before you explained it to them??

Just curious, I haven't been through a checkpoint yet.

Only one Garda did
But it was his uncle I was delivering to in Kerry so he know of the group
Have been told by group that all Garda stations have been notified about group
Was stopped 7 times but once I told them what I was doing they just waved me through

You guys know of anyone who has a spare sticker? Not getting any responses to request in the fb page.

Does your own insurance cover you for this , its a sort of courier service, interested but since its outside the 2km zone has anyone queried their insurance companies, ive full comp. with AxA, posted elsewhere and the reply I got back was "Whats insurance"

Hi, Courier services are paid. This is closer to going for a pint of milk for your mammy. She does'nt pay you either, and you'd hardly be called a courier for bringing it.

There is no hire or reward. its not a job, no one asked you to do it. If you offer to do a run, your volunteering and it's on your own dime, your insurance. I'm being blunt only because it's a good question and deserves a straight answer. bit like bringing a neighbors kid to a soccer match - does not make you a taxi.

that's my interpretation of it. I may be wrong but as i've said, you only go if you volunteer. 2 people doing it rang CN. One was told the premium was going up due to increased millage, and the other was told that sounded great.

Merv.

Yeah, I would say the key fact is that it's not for reward.......you are basically doing someone a favour.

Should I also be worried "delivering" my father's food to him once or twice a week.

I think not.
