Bad casting of front wheel hub.

Has anybody else received a bike with sub standard casting on their front wheel hub, I have been in touch with BMW UK Customer Services department, and they have said as it does not effect the handling or safety of the bike they will not do anything about it. I contacted Rainbow before BMW UK and they had been told the same thing, so their hands are tied.

Yes Mark, my front wheel looks just like yours. I don't know if that's typical of all the GS's now or maybe even all bikes. I don't recall my K1300S having a poor casting though. I wouldn't have mentioned it on here as the piss-taking was predictable, but I'll point it out to my dealer one day just to give feedback to BMW that customers notice the drop in quality of finish. It doesn't affect my feelings towards the bike though - I still think it's a great bike with a few unfortunate signs of penny-pinching.

I was much more concerned about numerous area of poor, blotchy lacquer until I realised they were Datatag dots!!

I am going to go out this week and spend some money on a product and do my hardest to find something that I absolutely hate about it, I fucking hate being satisfied, it makes life so tedious.

Why be happy about something when you can find fault, become a miserable twat and then spread the misery around, fuck happiness, vastly overrated in this current world.

I put this on here to get some feed back, I love the bike don't get me wrong. But I wish the small minded W_____s who abuse this site, would use it as it was intended. I spent 25yrs + in the armed forces so I can take banter with the best of them. I also thought hijacking threads was against this forums policy.

err.. no... Hijacking is i'm afraid alive and well....mostly funny though.....TBH... as for that casting, i would expect better TBH, afterall WBM are not cheap..... Chinese QA procedures really do need a kick up the jack...having said that the casting on my lads Lex Moto 125 (£849 brand new + £150 on the road) cast wheels are better then that......... its a sad old world we live in and one where i shall remain ignorant of the frustrations caused by buying a £14k bike !

Well 30 years in uniform including DPMs and small minded and I still wouldn't drop 15 large on a sub standard product and then moan on an internet forum
Take the fecking thing back and get Rainbow to give you a new wheel as your contract is with them and not BMW
