More than happy that negatives are posted here as well as the positives - afterall we do not want to end up like the 1150 section where everyone "pretends" their bikes are some kind of perfect motorcycle that never go wrong
oh i hear you loud and clear regarding the bike ,i totally agree,i am also happy with my 05 bike with no real issues to talk off.love it.
but the point i was making do we really want others to get the wrong idea of the bike.especially when they themselfs may not own a gs ,and are just scouting around for info for a patential purchase.
Perhaps if we had 3500mile service intervals like the Vstrom then we would be reliable too
People willl believe what they want to, anyone who sees this as a true reflection on ownership should check how many memers there are on here compared to how many bikes sold.
Ive had several 1200's and had some issues but, unlike some other companies Ive bought from, these have all been resolved speedily and courteously under warranty.
3500 mile service ?, I have a v-strom I use for communicating doing 18,000 miles a year and my manual states 6,000. My bike is just over a year old, perhaps for the new model they have lowered the service interval due lack of confidence in the engine ? No probs with my so far though.
The strom has a similar riding position as the GS , but obviously lower height.
I do agree with the points you are making though about warrenty. I think BMW warranty service is excellent.
I always take my GSA out for any fun/social/serious riding. The strom is not even in the GS league, as far as I am concerned.
