BAD VIBRATION

my 1999 gs1100 with 39000 miles on the clock has developed a very bad vibration through the front end at 75 mph and the faster i go wores it gets at 90 the clocks and mirrors are just a blur .ive had the front wheel out and had it balanced but the balancing was bang on i have felt for any play in the front end but cannot feel anything . Any help would be great as not sure what to do next ? cheers all dean

Are you sure it's not engine related? - Dip the clutch when it's vibrating and see what happens.

went out for a run today and took the bike 100mph and dipped the cluch and the vibration was still there . One thing i notice is that its not half as bad on my own as most of my riding is with a passenger so now im thinking shocks ?

May be worth a look but check the rear wheel.

Don' t know for sure, but might be worth checking your drive shaft u/j's the angle when solo will be more acute than 2 up which would give a strong vibration.

quick update on my vibration problem. This weekend i started at the front of the bike and worked my way to the back and found nothing wrong after putting my toys back in the pram i decided to take off the screen extension that was on the bike when i got it this february .So this afternoon i decided to go on the M.A.G protest run down the M1 and could not believe the difference it was like a different bike solid as a rock

What is it about Gs's and screens. Nice big screen but the mother of all buffeting. Its just so wrong. Couldn't BMW at least get rider comfort right.

My little Bandit screen is so much better.

Comparing both bikes its obvious that both bikes have their strengths and weaknesses. What is amnazing is that the GS is not particularly good at everything. You think it would be given what it costs.
