BAKERY OFF ROAD RIDE OUT 2010

I'll do the same as the other years in the 4x4 and sweep up any fallers while eating bacon rolls with the heating turned full on. :D

See that road surface, thats ice that is

I even had to turn up the heating a notch in the 4x4 :D

Might well turn up depending on 'er indoors and sprog. Currently got bad back so may not be able to ride. But will be able to join in the fun and spirit of the day in a 4x4 if not able to ride.

Apart from Steptoe, anyone else planning on coming in a 4x4?

Presume Steptoe knows a route?

PS - Hog Roast rocks.

mmm... pig...

looking into getting a PIG and roasting it, and pitching up lunchtime with it so as you have HOT FOOD

its storing the thing, but theres a VERY LARGE FRIDGE outside at the moment

55 kg PIG is the way to go, easyier than PASTIES and SAUSAGE ROLLS

+1 vote for the pig :)

Well bike now loaded onto the trailer and wobbly box ready for mid morning getaway down to Andover, is there any snow on Salisbury Plain or have you been lucky?, really looking forward to the ride on Tuesday may see some of you in the pub on Monday night:thumb

Just had a phone call from Bakerman who was on Salisbury Plain.

Due to extreme conditions on the Plain, this event has now been canceled...... more details will follow once he is back home.

Shame . Myself & some friends might be going from west lavington to imber for a small ride if anyone wants to brave it ( if my back feels better by then - pulled a muscle over crimbo) depends if conditions are awful though however I think it may be due to thaw a bit . . :(

I'd be on for the 16th - assuming my XC is back from the repair shop by then.

Steve,

is it the main graded gravel tracks that are the problem- you know, the tracks you need to ride to get to anything else on the plain?

DEFFERNATLY, its the begginers bits that are the worse, and its the begginers that need to get to the rough.

I`m still going down to bakery, and so are others, please set off from there as normal,

But for me to put 60 bikes onto SALISBURY PLAIN when local AMBULANCE service and the AIR AMBULANCE are working 24/7 would be very irisposable of me.

Locals will be there I recone the HARDCORE :thumb

So no need to make bacon rolls for us two. But we've stuck the 16th into the calendar hoping for a new attempt then. :thumb2 :beerjug:

I take it it's the same schedule and format, just change the date?!

Thanks for the update Steve, to be honest I was debating about spending the day trying to finish my Kitchen instead (ongoing project, almost completed), so any delay until a big thaw is a bonus for me.

Will follow the thread and wait for a definite day.:thumb2

I can stick my son's Dave Cooper rack on the back of the Disco and act as sweeper for any unfortunate U-Boat commanders on Jan 16th.
