hi guys,

i've no idea what this thing is called, and have now spent 2 hours scouring the 'net to no avail.
on an old bike of mine, i had a "balance" type gear lever. It basically has two pegs: one for the toes and one for the heal. that way you can change "up" without have to put your foot under the peg.
see image.

does one of these things exist for the 1100GS?

(as it's summer, i now "live" on my GS, and go to work with it, but seem to ruin my "good" shoes)

Ha! My old Moto Guzzi Nuovo Falcone had one of those. (On the right..)
Must be a big thing, down there, worrying about shoes.
Took a really good stamp, too. None of this precision Bavarian gearchange

+1 - I also had a NF for a while - just loved the slow, fire every lamp post tickover - but just couldn't get to really enjoy riding it, so swapped it for a R60/7 - saw the new owner recently, he told me he'd just sold it for 2.5k - hmm - wonder if the 60/7 is worth that much now.......!!:blast

To get back to the heel/tow change question, I also have a Yam Venture fitted with one - never, ever use the heel bit - makes you feel like your tap dancing - always change up and down with the toe bit.

Not sure what the NF ticked-over at. 180 rpm(!) rings a bell.
It used to walk backwards on its centre stand (slowly. everything slowly)
Mine was bought and a year later sold for L2.5k
That's for a mech. good but scruffy example.

Is this what they call a thread hijack?

Back on track, I would like one to, can sometimes end up with the top of my foot sore, when i have been changing gear a lot, has helped that I slid some radiator hose over the gear lever, but it still happens :augie
