i can balance them on my r1100gs but not on the R45, totally diff set up and dont wanna "trial and error" dont need a home made one either as i have a carbtune, there doesnt even seem to be vacuum pipes to hook guage onto to???

Carbs don`t go out of balance by not using a bike...unless you`ve got seizing cables or slides/pistons due to a lay up creating the awkwardness.

If it`s been stood for a while and now reluctant to idle properly, there`s more likely to be a blocked or partially blocked jet/airway,or shite/water in the floatbowls than the carbs having gone out of balance.

tarka's right, but anyway, the take offs for the gauges are under the carbs, in front of the float bowls. just little stubs blocked with a screw.

ah found them, now anyone know what idle should be on one of these???
