Balmara A837

Hey up lads and lasses
Could someone give me a little advice please
I am booking in at the Rowardennen Hostel - its at end of the A837 out of Balmara
My question is - Is the road a definate dead end or can you / is there a fire road trail that goes north out towards next road
I want to travel on north and it seems illogical for there not to be a
"local trail" that may be interesting and/or save a longish round trip
Also whats the state of this trail/track if there is one - I am told there are some local "ask permission" roads up your end of the world

And if anyone need advice for the peak district and Derbyshire see me please

The road ends at Rowardennan after that it's a single forest track, passable on a mountain bike, easiest walking.
