Hi, can anyone recommend some good accommodation up near Bamburgh Castle? I’m just looking for a quick overnight stay mid October.
Ideally a pub or cheapish hotel. Budget about £300.
I’ve looked on Booking.Com but personal recommendations are always favoured.

Thanks. 👍

We stayed at the Victoria a few years ago and it was pretty good. Car parking and they allow dogs.

Or the Olde Ship Inn in Seahouses . Stayed a couple of times. Rooms OK. Peak season it’s bonkers but off peak should be fine. I lie the place. A bit quirky but it’s got a lovely bar

The Bamburgh Castle Inn - Seahouses.

I’ve stayed there a few times.
I've not stayed in the establishment, but have used the beer garden a number of times, great view out to sea and also of Bamburgh Castle. I've noticed there's usually some motorcycles parked around the back in their car park. I would consider a stay there if I was motorcycle touring around there.

We stayed at the Old Ship many years ago whilst touring on the Blackbird. The landlord at the time moved his car out of the garage and insisted I put my Blackbird in there.

Beach House Hotel ,Seahouses we stopped overnight last year doing the coastal walk. Decent restaurant and good breakfast

I believe the Bamburgh Castle Inn is part of the Inn Collection group. I’ve stayed in a number of their properties and all were excellent

Thanks for all the suggestions,I’m now booked into the Victoria Hotel. 👍

I can recommend both 'The Potted Lobster' and 'The Lord Crewe' for dinner in Bamburgh. Neither are the cheapest (and you'll probably need to book) but both were excellent when we visited in 2024. The Potted Lobster was similarly excellent when we returned earlier this year. Online menu doesn't look anything much maybe, but the daily specials board is where it comes into its own for locally caught seafood. Despite our efforts, we didn't return to The Lord Crewe this year as it was fully booked... My Sister and B-I-L also enjoyed the Potted Lobster when they were in Bamburgh this summer.

A quick update for any future visitors to Bamburgh. We stayed at the Victoria Hotel in a room overlooking and within easy walking distance of the Castle.
There is free parking outside on a first come first served basis but they do have their own private car park just around the corner. The room was very spacious with all the usual bits, complimentary drinks, kettle, iron, hair dryer, Kingsize bed, bath and a large shower, desk, additional lounge chairs, balcony etc, etc.
Price was £230 per night which included breakfast for two. The breakfast was ample, self service for toast, fruit, cereals etc and then waitress service for cooked options and yes you could have a bit of everything and I did. 😂

We ate in the hotel, £86 for two courses for two people, no alcoholic drinks included in that figure. Pricey but not ridiculously pricey for a hotel situated where it was and the food and service was top notch.
Would I stay there again, absolutely yes. 👍👍
