My mate is looking for his first bike and a local guy is selling a '96 or '97bandit 600 (naked). I have known the bike for some time as a friend of mine owned it before the guy who has it now. The bike still looks very clean and in good nick. Does anyone have any advice on these bikes that I could pass on to my mate? I take it they are pretty cheap to run and maintain etc, has anyone done any big miles on a bandit 600?

Thanks in advance.

Bandits :)

IMHO the early Bandits N P and early R reg are the BEST:thumb2 [600 and 1200]
Just make sure it looks and is straight and have it HPI'd unless you know the vendor very well.
They make a great first big bike and are very chuckable giving lots of warning before letting go:eek:
One must have mod, is a micron fork brace, the 'fick un
Otherwise Great virtually bullet proof engine, smooth as silk g'box and dead easy to work on.
One other added advantage is, If looked after you should be onto a bike that loses no value, as they are getting very highly sought after:thumb2
Just don't tell the seller that:augie
