A few mates and myself are heading over the channel for a couple of days in France. If we're looking for great roads and (secondary) scenrey, do we go inland or hug the coast going west?
head south to the Ardennes. Sedan is a nice enough place for a couple of nights and has loads of nice roads. You can ride through 4 countries in a short circular route. Logis de France have a reasonable place there http://www.logis-de-france.fr/uk/re...d=12&lang=EN&action=fastadvsearch&logis=sedan
A cheaper hotel option, an F1, can be found in the larger Charleville Mezieres a few km away.

I have a great cross country route from the chunnel to Lille if you like. GPS...Thanks for the advice guys. Ardennes it is then! Hopefully, the sun will shine, the roads will be twisty and the beers will be copious and cold.

Plus despite Wapping, and having lived in Belgium for fifteen years, Bouillon is not "basically french" it is basically Belgian, therefore generally nicer people and cheaper prices...

No problem'It might as well be French....' woz wat i sed....
Not meant to upset, it's a really nice place.....![]()

If you do "GPS" I will send you the file...Cheers.
Thanks for the cross country route to Lille. I will give it a go, next time I head that way.
There were hundreds of bikes out last weekend in the Bouillon area. A huge number of Dutch bikes and a host of BuMW's on some sort of organised road rally or press event.

I'd love the file too please. Thanks
The sun shone, the roads were magnificently twisty and the beers were indeed copious and cold! We ended up staying in La Roche on Belgium and did a couple of days riding out from there on great roads in Belgium and Luxembourg. Thanks for the advice all. We'll be going again for a longer break in late summer.
