Did anyone else see the article in Thursday's Guardian IT section. They highlighted a change to the banking code. Apparently, customers are expected to "Use up-to-date antivirus and spyware software and a personal firewall" (Section 12.9). Section 12.13 says " Unless you have acted fraudulantly or without reasonable care (for example, by not following the advice in section 12.9) you will not be liable for losses caused by someone else which take place through your online banking service"
These two sections give the banks a potential loop hole as who is to decide what is up-to-date software?
So here is the question. Without saying exactly what combination of security you use, can you receommend good up-to-date security software?
thanks,
Path.
