Fitting the radio above the dash is a good place to start. Below is some diagrams I hope would help you (I just grabbed it of the net as an example). Remember that you should isolate the power supply to the radio to eliminate the ground loop noise sometimes experienced. A shielded power supply lead and/or a noise suppressor would work. If you fit the radio in a metal bracket it would be a good idea to earth the bracket. I run all my accessories from the fuse panel which is powered by a relay and switched on with an autoswitch from Nippy Normans

Andi, unfortunately not. Only 2008 MU onwards. The funds is a bit thin to start another project. I have the measurements for the 1st gen 1200gs bar clamps but no prototype yet.
