Or rather bar 'backers'.
Yep, I know it's been discussed loads of times but I couldn't find anything specific to what I want in a search :)

I tend to get a pain in my left shoulder after an hour or so 'straight line' riding (dislocated it in my 20's and had it reduced on scene - not been right since). From messing around with my hand positions while riding, I'm pretty sure that moving the bars back an inch or two would fix it.

I don't need 'up' so much as 'back' although I know that some rise is inevitable.

Is there any riser with a modest rise (say an inch max) but which also gives an inch or two back? I'd also rather not have to faff with cables or hoses if at at all possible. 2012 twincam.

Jaws Motorcycles do one that rises either 14mm or 25mm (depending on which one you buy) and shifts them back by 15mm.

They don't have any in stock for the 1150 at the moment because their supplier lost the dimensions to manufacture them. :blast
They might have them for the 1200.

I'm waiting for them to get them back in stock. To give them credit, they immediately refunded me after I placed the order and emailed me to explain the situation. I've had a look around and they're the only ones I can find that will shift the bars back with a minimum amount of lift.

Thanks - I had Jaws risers in my 1100 but I don't think 15mm back is going to be enough in this case.

Have a look at Rox Risers - lots of adjustment possibilities.

Thanks - I'll take a look at them.

Rox might be your best bet. They pivot on the original bar mounts so you can have them up, back or forwards.

This is what I did with handlebars to resolve hand grip pain and shoulder discomfort if not actual pain.

If you need more height or pullback then Rox solid or anti vibe will do fine. If you need anti vibration then you might need lower rise bars. My lower rise mounts were made for the Rox when I was using the OEM handlebars. A nice bonus if you have the facilities

Thanks. Any idea if the Rox risers need cable or hose mods?

I managed ok but to be fair my bar ends are no higher than standard. Unclip the cable ties remove the bar clamps and see how much space you have to play with.

Without trying to teach you to "suck eggs", the standard bar clamps can be reversed to move the bars closer to the rider. Has this been done already on your bike ? If not, it would make an easy and free first step.

Yep, they're already reversed ;)

Handlebars are 22mm or 28mm. Harleys sometimes have 1" bars.

I found the Rox anti vibe risers were great on a Yamaha 4 cylinder when used as pull backs. But had minimal effect on the BMW unless they were set near vertical. Mine work best when the vibes are across the riser. Other models might vary but mine don't do much when vibes are along the riser length.

If you are looking simply for an up/back bar mounting then go for cheaper solid risers.

Thanks for the replies everyone - I think I'll end up with some solid Rox risers. Vibes aren't a problem - my twincam is ultra smooth.
Just hope they'll fit without cable / hose issues.

Matt, I have these fitted to my twin cam with no problems regarding cable and brake hose length. SW MOTECH 28mm dia, up 20mm back 30mm. Part number LEH.07 07 039 12200/S.
Hope it may be of use to you. I am near Preston if you want to see what they are like on the bike?
Regards
Stan

Thanks for the reply Stan - they sound perfect. Where did you buy yours? I've found them on SW Motech's site - just looking around for prices now.

Any photos of them? I am trying to find a pair that go up but back more, no cable issues to deal with (2009 model)

Here you go. No cable issues (2012 GSA).

Sorry - doing this from my phone which has flipped a couple of the pics.
