Bar risers

Hi,Bought some Wunderlich up and back bar risers and one bolt is not flush when fitted.I mistakenly ordered two sets and both are the same left hand side when sat on bike.Anyone had the same problem ? Not sure if I want to drill it out so bolt is flush but thought maybe take it to a engineering place to do it just in case I messed it up.
Couple of pics.Bolt is second pic down and preventing handlebar sitting correctly.

Go onto the wunderlich site and there’s fitting instructions, basically the top bolts should be done up the 19Nm and be touching and the bottom bolts done up to 19Nm and have a gap

Shouldn't need to drill it out, just try and get the correct length bolts in the right place. Think I used two of the original BMW bolts in the top fixing clamps and two of the new bolts in the bottom fixings. So you finish up with each of the top clamps having one of the BMW supplied bolts and one of the WUnderlich bolts. Just try and have min about 1cm+ of thread holding in ALL the bolt threads.

Digging up this thread as I have encountered the same problem.

The Wunderlich risers do not have a sufficient recess cut into them to accommodate the bolt HEAD i.e. the length of the bolt is not relevant.

This means (as in the OPs pics above) the handlebar itself will rest on the bolt head - not good!

The problem is unaffected by the bolt being torqued up - the recess is simply too small for the bolt heads.

I'm waiting to hear back from Nippy Normans (where I got them) meanwhile anyone else seen this?

For clarity. Wunderlich supply M8 bolts with a smaller head for the holes in question. It's easy to miss this as, at a glance, they look just like the regular ones.

Have to say though, Doc's pics at the start of the thread do look like he has the wrong bolt in the Wunderlich riser i.e. one with a normal size head and not the smaller head ones.
