Why I don't like this guy
Background info.
My mate bought a 05 GS1150 Adv from Barrie Robson BMW 2 years ago.
He took the bike for a MOT about a month ago and was told the VIN number on the bike didn’t match up with the DVLA records.
After a phone call to BR, it turns out they sold 2 identical bikes to 2 brothers on the same day in 2005, and somehow the bikes ended up with the wrong number plates hence the mix up. Not good but shit happens?

So BR offers to send a van down to pick up the bike and call in the other owner. He said the easiest solution would be to swap the number plates over and then re-register the bikes to the new owners and send them back. My mate wasn’t happy with this as it would obviously add another owner to the log book and mix up service history and everything else. BR now agrees to pick up bikes and contact DVLA and explain the error. So that’s what happened. He picked up my mates bike and agreed to MOT and service it while DVLA examined the bikes and changed the VIN numbers over on the V5s. This process took 3 weeks and my mate had the bike back last Thursday.
Problem.
About a month before he found out about this mix up, my mate had 2 new coil sticks fitted by Mike at Cardiff Motorrad, as the old ones had started to break down. These coils cost about £55 each and the bike ran much better with the new ones.
Anyway, when he took the bike out for the first run after the above issue, he noticed the bike was miss-firing a bit. He called BR and was told that they had not noticed any problems and it was nothing to do with them.
When we pulled the coils to check the plugs, one coil stick was obviously a knackered one. It was rusty and swollen while the other was brand new. They also have the date of manufacture stamped on them. One was 09 (new). The other was 03 (old and rusty)
BR denies any wrong doing but has offered to send out a new coil stick.
To my mind that is robbery, and I would recommend that anyone dealing with this rouge thinks twice.
