I seem to now have a very slight (damp at the join) oil leak from the base gasket on the near side barrel of my 33,500 mile r1150gs. Strip it and fix it? or leave well alone for the time being?

Very slight? Wash it and forget it.
Anything more IE oily residue, fix it. very easy diy. Should take no more than a day even if you have to use a haynes manual. Takes me about 3 or 4 hrs
You'l need a new head gasket plus clear RTV for the base. brake cleaner and a new (plastic) scourer. Scotchbrite I think it's called.

Don't strip it,just take the rocker covers off,and re-tighten all the head bolts and that should cure any weepage.Happens to a lot of bikes:thumb

Thanks chaps. Will tighten it up and see what happens. :D
