BaseCamp 4.2.4

Several years and much misery later :blast I've finally found why my Zumo completely screws up routes imported from the card (as these are recalculated by the Zumo) where as, routes saved directly to the zumo aren't

In fact, it could explain a lot of misery with a certain Montana too (it always recalculates routes) :blast

Look at from 4min onward

Cheers Bumpkin,

It sound like you have to be a computer geek to plan a route on a satnav. I've only ever gone from A to B on a daily basis. Pick up a Nav V today. I feel a headache coming on!!

Its worth learning to use mapping software Steve because you can preplan exactly where you want to go. Make the effort and keep it simple to start with. I've successfully preplanned a 10 day road trips around America making the navigation bit real easy and leaving us to enjoy the ride :thumb

Sorry m8 but that's the wrong approach. You need to dable with it before then otherwise it could bugger up your trip.

Even, boring as it may sound, plotting your route to work, and other regular journeys, and then driving them with the sat nav is the way to get familiar with it.

This is absolutely right, don't leave it till May, make up routes with waypoints and make sure it takes you where you expect to go!

Don't worry, I'll be practicing plotting etc with it from now up until I go. If I left it till May SWMBO would of murdered me before the end of the trip.

Plotting a route is OK with BC, its the search function which is really shite.

I'm sure if you used it everyday you would get the hang of it, but it is far from intuitive.

I need ViaMichelin and Google maps open to ensure I can plan and input a good route into BC.
