I hope someone here can give me a bit of help/ direction!!!
I have just downloaded Basecamp for the Imac and I'm relatively up to speed with the transition from PC to Mac!
My Situation is.. my Garmin GPSMAP 276c which ive programmed on mapsource previously (PC), then on to Road trip (an Old mac) Road trip was terrible imo! Now have a New Imac so decided to have a go with basecamp! I think im right in assuming basecamp does do auto routing?? and turn by turn but the garmin support website is like a bucket of frogs to me!!!. but the issues are as follows.
Map detail.. Garmin advises map needs up dating with a new map purchase!! I currently have europe V9 purchased 2009, and I used this with mapsource& roadtrip programs!
Can Europe map V.9 be migrated across for basecamp use? Ive tried so many times but not to not any conclusion!
Also The auto routing within basecamp draws straight lines from the start to destination.. (as the crow flies etc..)and not turn by turn!
Basecamp currently has the Global map installed and this came with the basecamp program I download.
With the program using this global map only, I have tried to alter the routing option through basecamps settings and prefrences but this does not change the straight routing problem!!.
would this confirm I do have to purchase a new map to increase the global map detail for turn by turn & auto routing to work??,
