Hi guys,

I'm having problems with basecamp.

it won't load up, and i get this message:

"Basecamp needs read and write access to the C:\users\nathan\Appdata\Local\Temp\basecamp\directory"

Tried removing basecamp and re-installing it, but not having any luck.

How do i fix this?

many thanks,

nathan

ok right clickon the icon > properties> security

there you can see the read write permissions, click edit and select read and write.

that should solve it.

are you logged in as admin or just a user? you may have some odd user restrictions set up.

Still not having any job with this.:blast

I've tried "Run as administrator"

I've checked the security settings (by right click on the icon)- they are all ticked (though "read" and "read and execute" are in a slightly different shade to the rest of the ticks.

I've tried the same thing by going direct to the file and doing the same thing, the only thing that looks more promising is a prompt that asks "do you want to allow this program to make changes to the hard drive on this computer".

I've even set up another user on this laptop, and installed and tried to run basecamp through that.

Still no joy- it has the same problem. :(

"Basecamp needs read and write access to the C:\users\nathan\Appdata\Local\Temp\basecamp\directory"

Dose that directory exist? Try deleting it and re-install.
Or, you can change the permissions to either that directory OR maybe to the parent dir: \Temp

Right click on the dir listing in explorer, click "properties", select the "Security" tab. At the bottom, look through the permissions. To change them, click the edit tab. Mine are set to:
Full control, Modify, Read & Execute, list folder content, Read, Write.

Then click "Advanced" and see what users have "full control" mine are "me", Users(me), SYSTEM and Administrator(me).

The above for Win 7.

See how that goes.
