Has any one found a way of getting the search function to work without you knowing where some place is to start with...:blast
I have an address in Latvia to go to, address suppled but local spelling. Use Basecrap and cant even find Latvia. put the same spelling into Mapsource and it comes up with a list of options in "english" spelling, finds easy. So copied the English spelling into Basecrap and it finds it. Is there any way of doing the name search so it will give me the same list of options in drop down box.
Madly frustrated need some valium:pullface

It's useless finding places in this country, .............I feel your pain!!

The one aspect of Basecamp that needs considerable work IMHO.

I tend to do my searches in Google Maps and get the lat/long from there, then create a waypoint in Basecamp.

Hopefully Garmin will get there in the end.

I doubt it. Garmin haven't added postcode search, it's been what... 3 years+? Expecting them to release a usable product instead of this 'adventure shite' is too much for them. Do they need some competition or what?

The search function doesn't work in most Garmin software. Get over it and move on - its the only way to save your mental health.

I've come across dozens of towns and villages that simply don't exist in the database (they're all there on the maps though:blast).

Most amusing to call support and ask them what happened to 'Solihull' or wherever the search function can't find.
