Bash plate and engine bars combo

Hey guys, sorry I can't be bothered to trawl through the bash plate thread as I'm currently in hospital browsing on my phone, sadly I don't have an aweful bus pulling out in front of me story, just a collapsed lung from too much exercise, you have been warned :P
Another long story short my insurance are paying for replacing my Givi engine bars after the bike was knocked over by a bus whilst parked. However they will fit only BMW parts, now I'd also like to fit a bash plate - obviously the BMW ally bash plate will fit with the BMW bars.
The questions I have are; are there any other bash plates that won't fit with the BMW bars? I has quite happy with the protection from the givi bars, so is there a bash plate that'll match it well? However the givi bars did knock on my shins a bit, so am open to other suggestions.

The bikes been off the road waiting for the insurance companies to sort their shit out for nearly 4 weeks now, I've been slowly going stur crazy not being able to ride and now I've found myself in hospital, life really can suck sometimes :-|
 
For excellent protection, I and many others have gone with the tried and frequently tested Adventure Spec bars and bash plate. I originally had the BMW bash plate with the Adventure Spec bars so they are compatible.

I managed to split a weld seam on the BMW plate. I had it re-welded but then found it a sod to refit. The Adventure Spec plate is thicker and a lot easier to fit and remove for straightening, cleaning out stones and crud, oil changes etc. It also provides more protection at the front end. It's a bit shorter than the BM plate, which worried me a bit at first, but I have had no problems.

Cheers for the replies, with my limited engineering background ie. none I've always thought that bars with a high loop of metal around the radiator like the Adventure spec and TT ones would not protect it a well.

The couple of times my bike went down with the low but wide Givi bars the front fairing/rad haven't been damaged. Of course that's always been on road on a flat surface I can see how it could help doing down off road.

Defineately an option to think about, cheers!
