bash plate question

Any ideas on where i can get a nice large bash plate for 101. the standard one is the same size as the sump and i've noticed a few of you guys are running a larger jobbie. I've seen TT do one but as id like to fit one before i die i'm not going to bother ordering one of theres.

You need a GS sump to mount the bashplate on. It's got 4 threaded holes for the bashplate to mount on. The Paralever PD plate is huge compared to the standard GS one. I'm not sure about availability though.

101's motor is an r90, will the 80gs sump fit Rob?

Te sumps are interchangable but watch out for oil capacity. The GS has a different scavenge system as well.

The larger guard is the one fitted to the Paralever PD.

Of course, the bigger the bash plate, the more chance of putting unwanted loading on the sump.
Are there any sump guards that mount to the frame?

I've got a gs sump and it has the 4 holes for the sump plate, so its just getting the plate. I've spoken with motorworks and the PD one is no longer available, Any ideas.

I looked on the HPN site and all their models have (had), very token bashplates.
More like the standard GS plate but a bit wider/longer... even with the motor dropped in the frame and the sump distance piece.
Longer suspension I know, but...

I know youve tried motorworks but have you tried Sherlocks or motobins ?
Or will I have to lend you mine so those nice guys at B....tlys can make you one.

I use a standard 100 road bike sump on mine...
Gives you more oil capacity
Better cooling without a bash plate robbing you of air flow
so you don't need a fragile oil cooler
Cheap as chips second hand

Not indestructible but you do need to hit it hard to smash it as i discovered

And i don't think a sump mouted bash plate would have saved me from this...I recon it would have just transfered the impact to the bolts and broke the sump by the bolt holes...Unless you rubber mouted the sump then you got no ground clearance..

I have replaced it with another road bike sump and will slow down a bit over 3 foot jumps

mm. i got the larger pd one on my g/s
was an ebay one, comes with the four mounting bolts rubber mounted they are
