Basic GSA

I've seen a basic GSA with enduro pack and enduro tyres for aprox £10,500 nearly new I'm not sure what the enduro pack includes but I'm wondering from you experts is this a decent deal and would I have problems reselling it with no extras, I know it's been up for sale for a while would it be worth a punt at £10,000, any advice would be appreciated.

Enduro pack is tkc80 tyres and lower ratio first gear (a good thing imho). always worth a punt go in at 9.5k. could be a little difficult to sell on later especially if it doesn't even have heated grips! majority of people want them with dynamic and premium i.e. fully loaded.
but at the right price everything sells.

i had a basic 08 one no tkc thought they are a choice
the enduro gearing is fab ie 1st up to 30 have it on my 11 gsa no extras means less to go wrong 10500 is expensive imho i paid £8800 for a 6 month old one with 600 miles so worth a punt at the right price. heated grips and the switch can be added i was quoted £300 to do it or you can get after market ones for £30 i used oxford overgrips which did the job just fine for winter

I've looked up the price for a new standard GSA which is £11645 they don't seem to charge for the enduro package anyway so if I could get it for around £10,000 a fairly good saving me thinks only issue I have is when it's time to resale will no one want it because its a basic bike,also I know it's might sound stupid but do the enduro tyres compromise the handling and speed on the road or can you just use them as normal road tyres your thoughts are appreciated.

Ask the dealer to change the tyres - mine came minus the tyres (Tourances instead)

If the price is right, buy it. You won't have a problem selling it.

A lot of folks hate ABS and / or the ESA Electronic Suspension.

Quite a few just want a GS and can't afford one with all the bells and whistles.

GSA's with the enduro box are like rocking horse sh*t, 'cos most folks don't appreciate the benefits, even for pure road riding.

If the price is right - do it !

Are u sure no heated grips? Personally I would find a bit more cash and get a few extras and proper tyres for the road! Dynamic and premium well worth it IMO. Thought u wanted a multi?

definitely get the heated grips, but leave the other stuff off.

Sirich, yea did want a multi, once you've had a Ducati it's hard to change but just can't get the gs out of my head it's coming to crunch time had enough of sports after 20 years and will change soon,made a mistake and popped into rainbow with a mate who's buying a GSA and sat on one say no more, got to be the right deal and right bike though.

GSA Basic.....

R1200GSA 30 Year BASIC........!

That's what I wanted but after much deliberation ordered it from the factory with ABS, heated grips and the enduro box(all stock bikes were fully loaded or had stuff I didn't want so I waited nearly three months for mine to be delivered)

After nearly three years on an HP2E the GS was pure 'lardarsed luxury' and the ABS option was simply a choice I made 'just' incase........!

I bought the bike for me.......Not the next owner and I doubt there'll be £3000 difference between a 'Basic' and Premium/Dynamic bike second hand in five years time.

Understand completely, came from a ducati myself, these bikes have got soul too, im more than happy with my gsa , aded bonus is the dealer i have dealt with have been absolutely superb, no other bike dealership experience has come close. Get the spec you REALLY want, if its a keeper it makes sense to.

I'm interested to know why people are raving about the enduro box, especially for road riding? Reading different reviews is confusing. A lot say the enduro box (which gives you a shorter 1st gear) is standard on the GSA but an option on the GS, but on the BMW motorrad spec sheets it lists the enduro box as a factory fit option for the GSA, and it's not even available for the GS :

Not ever done any enduro riding and coming from litre sports bikes what is the shorter first gear for and how would that help for road riding if at all.

You've no doubt heard the old saying "be all that you can be"

I applied that to buying my GSA. Let it be all that it can be. And by eck, it's one hell of a bike, and after almost 3years it still never fails to put a huge grin on my face when I ride it (and I also own a Ducati).

Dig deep and load her up.

I've never had abs ESA on any of my sports bikes (mind you I've had ohlins) so would I miss it, but not having this sort of bike maybe this is essential,that's why I posted this thread, everyone has there own idea of what they want but do they need it,will it keep you safer or enhance the ride, I probably wouldn't be asking if I had not seen this standard bike with no toys decisions decisions.
