Battery change problem

I have just bought the odyssey PC680MJ as recomended by earlier threads for my 03 1150, went to change it and found it's a lot deeper than original with what looks like a false shelf on the battery holder with required gap under it.
Is it the right battery and if so how do I get it in ?

The false shelf probably comes out. Was the battery that came out another dry cell item? The battery Touratech sells needs a mounting platform that sits in the battery tray. The 680 is similar in size to the original battery.

Non-ABS bike I assume. Came with a smaller OE battery. Doncha just love those BMW bean counters.

PC680mj Fitted my 2001GS with abs no problem...Bit tight with the jacket on but no higher than thestd lead acid type battery.
