Any know what the ratings are on the stock GS1200 batteries (I've an 04 bike)? Need to find out the cold cranking amps and if they were rated at 0c or 32c. I assume the rating is applied for at 30sec crank...

Also any recomendations on deep cycle batteries...and the ratings of the batteries you've tried.

Try this:

http://www.yuasabatteries.com/pdfs/2008yuaapp.pdf

According to their bumpf, the standard battery as fitted to my 2004 R1200GS (Yuasa YTX14-BS) can provide cold cranking amps of 200 A @ -18 Celcius (0 Farenheit).

The battery is still listed for BMW bikes under the European section (page 29 of 36 on the .pdf)

I changed ages ago to a Hawker Odyssey and have had no problems (apart from a failed fuel pump controller) and would highly recommend them as they are pure lead with an absorbed glass mat (AGM) spillproof construction and capable of withstanding deep discharge cycles. I bought mine from Motorworks.
