Bearing in mind Berlin's wonderful design concept whereby in order to unhook or remove the battery on these bikes, you need to half-dismantle the entire sodding vehicle, my pal Mo with the '04 GS Adventure - enormous bike - and I with my much more easily nick-able '04 Rockster, are both thinking of interposing an isolator switch into the battery negative feed. A simple switch installed near the battery and beneath the locked driver's seat.

Mo has a fancy alarm on his GSA ( hate 'em - and they don't stop scroats from loading the bike into their van ).

And I'm also wondering whether an ECU reset would be needed every time the bike is woken up in the parking plot or after a week or so's snooze in the garage with the electric circuits effectively isolated.
Any thoughts from the gurus ?

Oh, and whilst I remember, I sourced a fine-condition used pair of GS footpedal kits from our esteemed sponsor in Molton, Devon - and at a wonderful knock-down price. Just need to re-coat them in Rockster-frame dark blue-ish from their current silver-ish. Then the pain in the old knees on a long ride will hopefully be reduced somewhat. Combined with the replaced handlebar - the much more comfy Roadster bar - my riding position on the Rockster is / will be much much improved.
