Bike wouldn't start this morning (here we go again) so....

Odyessy £99 + £8.50 p&p (Nippy's)

Yuasa £45 + £4 p&p (MDSBattery.co.uk)

Is the Odyssey worth twice as much?:nenau

Odyessy

'cos the yuasa will be full of nasty acid at that price?

...quickly.

block the end of the tube, and put a slit in it with a razor, like you do with a breather pipe, slows it up if you cant stay on,/ pick it up,
i use yuasa or similar,
mainly cos i get em trade, i change em every 2 year but to be honest, theres usually nowt wrong wi em,
the odyssey is good but i cant justify the price as i dont usually keep my bikes over 3 year, exept the one i have at the mo

shops love sellin you battery's, big mark up on the price

for starters: when your bike falls over, the acid comes out.

Mines been over loads, acid has NEVER leaked.Ever.I have a YTX12B here I have just acid'd up for my Yamaha.I have it upside down over the key board now................................................

.......................................................No No leaks :aidan

For me a Yuasa everytime.
My last cost me £28.00(just less)and Im guessing will lat me as long as the first,3 years,so £28 every three years wont kill me,How long will an odessey last?So I will get 12 years to one odessey.
Also the terminals wont catch on me seat and fry me nads:D

On my '95 1100GS I replaced the original with the odyssey battery and was very pleased with it. Owned it for 9 years before getting the '08 1200GS. When I have to replace the battery on this one I will not hesitate to purchase another odyssey battery. It was worth the extra cost.

I believe the charging rate on the AGM battery (original equipment) is different from a ordinary lead acid one. So the Yuasa sloshy one may be over charging.:rob

Would recommend Odessey......will sit for weeks if the weather's poor and still start straight away. My OEM battery would never go more than a fortnight before needing a charge. Pity the Odessey is a bit too tall and a b***** to fit, though. Would strongly recommend adding extra insulation to prevent electrical shorting under the seat.......see threads on GS catching fire. Don't know how they compare on longevity.
