Got the new GS LC at Easter. Had the BMW dealer transfer my autocom and Garmin Sat Nav (Oldish 550 which has been on my last two GSs) on to new bike.

When Sat nav put in cradle the bike just shut down,
Dealer re wired, but now cradle 'live' all the time, If bike left for a week there isnt enough juice left in the battery to start it.
Took back to dealer asked to be rewired to come on with ignition (as with two previous models) or just fit a switch........Told me they cant do either...blaming Sat Nav because its too old........

Any ideas anyone?

Get someone to wire it in to the battery via a relay from some ignition source. I imagine you can't or don't want to do it yourself since you paid the dealer to do it but it's a simple job to do that any bike shop should be able to do. Main dealers probably just don't want to but any independent with do it easy.

I would use a fuzeblock or pdm60 and wire it up yourself which is what I've done with my gsa lc with a pdm60 and a fuzeblock with my g650gs

What about one of these.

That's what I've got for my 550, works fine!

If you want me to sort out wiring and/or relays for you, I'm more than happy to do it... I'm in Crawfordsburn. Not sure that I can pm with only two posts, so if you get in touch, let me have your mobile number.

Just rewire autocom to the switched live under the seat.....Sat nav wire into sat nav socket under right side front panel............ simples

I'm also happy to lend a hand - I live in Bangor but travel up and down the M2 a few times a week :D

Funny to see 2 friends offering their services here to some poor punter...when I wouldn't let either of you alone with my bike for all the tea in china ;)

Just kidding, both of these boys will do a sterling job. Mike and Doug, let's get out some time.

Figured out Diamond's problem. There was a full 12.5v on the cable to the Zumo. It was connected to the supply at the 7.5a fuse beneath the rider seat. However, at the cradle, there was only 10v. Doing the trawl of the forums, I found that there could be a problem with the ribbon cable from power connector to pinout so easily fixable with a cradle dismantle or replacement.

Thanks for the wine and the gift Martin. The wine was lurvely and I'll treasure the hand-made gift...

On the other hand, Charles Hurst tech was absolutely shocking. If you buy something in Northern Ireland and don't want them to make a mess of it, then speak to me...

Si, you're such a charmer.... :D

Result...got new cradle on e world....minutes to fit...all perfick!
Took Doug minutes to suss problem, good guy.
Everything in the world is as one!
