battery

BMW Oxford wanted £110 for one on my GS

I asked just incase i needed one, i'll be going else ware when it fails!

I replaced my original battery last week, it was on it's last legs towards the end of last year and the cold winter in the garage must have finished it off. It was 4 yrs old so can't grumble.

I found this place online and the battery was £49.99 delivered next day. They also sent a £5 voucher for next order.

It's a Lucas and the cca (cold cranking amps) was stated as 200 which seemed to be what most of the other ytx14's were rated at in the below £70 price range. Some of the cheaper ones on eBay etc were only 120 cca.

Fitting an Odyssey

Hi,

I think my battery's kaput. Looking at all the other posts on this subject would tend to suggest so.

I've been to measure the space for the battery and can't believe the Odyssey will fit without difficult alterations. True?

I've seen some recommend Yuasa or Lucas at less than half the price of the Odyssey. Your thoughts? :nenau
Thanks

Having seen Thunder crank over his Airhead at -5c for ages my next battery will be an Odyssey

Does anybody know if that battery fits a R1100GS? I am afraid it might be too wide (apparently a standard 1100 battery is 82mm wide; this one is 88mm).

What about a battery with a lower CCA (let's say 150)? Would that do?

Thanks.

It appears to be true that you can't believe it! It is false that it won't fit without difficult alterations:D

I have a 2008 GSA and while it's a tight squeeze and you may have to move some cabling, it fits without difficult alterations.

Top tip - make sure you put it in the right way round!:blast
