Hello all.
Just got a 2018 GSA with new fangled Tft etc.
If I disconnect the battery leads to pop a charger cable on to them will I have to reset anything when it's reconnected? I've got an Oxford Oximiser which I assume will be fine directly connected to the battery.
I'm sure the non BMW charger ruining your electronics is marketing shite from the manufacturer.

Hi if you take the cover off the right hand side as you sit on the bike there is a terminal post you can connect to and if you are careful you can keep any other wires pushed on while fitting your optimate or whatever you have so as not to have to reset anything after. This is what I did you will have no problems with the non canbus charger as it is going direct to the battery. l have also put an optimate plug onto my tyre pump as it would not run through the canbus without cutting off the supply.

Got it.
Funny battery set up but I assume I just connect red to red and black to black as before.
I never trust the canbus and prefer straight to the terminals.

Yes … Negative direct to the battery & Positive to the terminal post as shown in the photo :thumby:

The clock will reset if power is lost. If you have the Navigator satnav then this will update the display automatically, otherwise you will need to reset the date & time manually.
